Friday Night Grab Bag..."Go Granny Go!!"

Something reminded me of my roots the other day.  I was born in Glendale, Ca., next to the "Little Old Lady From Pasadena"!! (Good ol' Beach Boys)   There were many times that my grandmother would drive down Colorado Blvd to shop and take me to lunch as a little girl.  Those were the days.  When "Bob's Big Boy" was the favorite place to go.  And we would sit and watch all the "Blue Hairs" to teenagers file in to order a milkshake and a burger.  Enjoy the vid.  It's great...Look for the dog!

  1. Hi. You'e a little young, but you would have loved cruising Tweedy Blvd and Harvey's Broiler in Southgate. I had a 59 Chevy 348 4 speed with the front end jacked up and 7" cheater slicks on the back. Never lost a race.

  3. Back in the day...places I lived as a child like Buena Park, Chino, Laguna Beach were merely wide spots in the road. No freeways but plenty of vapor lock. So Cal = the hot-rod capitol of the world. Irvine was a ranch complete with cactus, rattle snakes, cattle and vaqueros. Things have changed.

  4. Howard ~ I lived right next to the Irvine Ranch growing up...not too many orange groves left either, down there! Glad to be away from the "change"!! Give me fresh air, mountains and streams...

This post reminds me of the old Mug & Cone drive-ins--talking about your Grandmother got me to thinking about tracing my roots. You might want to give the Ancestry thing a try. Thanks for sharing.
