There are those days that you wish that you knew how to come up on a pool of spooky fish just the right way. Yesterday, was one of those days. Everytime I would quietly, gently...get anywhere halfway close, whoosh! Fish gone. Did they think that I was BIGFOOT??? Huh...I thought that BIGFOOT was in PA.!! Ok, I know that I am on the tall side and my feet are a little bit larger than I would like. But, really. I went into each area of fish with the slowest and softest approach I could. Really, I did.
I promise...my foot isn't that big!
C'mon...there's no way that my foot made TV news!
So, it was time to change my strategy. This creek is small and tight. There is no room for mistakes with your casting. If your backcast is anywhere close to something green...it will find it! I started with my Sage 9 ft rod. But, with the tangles every 5 min., I figured it was time to head back to the car and grab the Eagle Claw fiberglass 6.6 ft...even though it was bright yellow. I mean, I was spooking fish anyway!
