Ok...so, I shared a recipe for Biscuits and Gravy (use revised recipe) over at one of my favorite blogs, Small Stream Reflections, and it got me thinking, how many times do we rush out the door on our way to fish with a granola bar in hand...hmmm? Or even better, a Diet Coke and a Snickers!! (Who would do that, huh? Ha.) So, I'm going to tell you the same thing that your mother and grandmother told you...that BREAKFAST is the most important meal of the day! (And it helps prevent that SKUNK from showing up! Ha) Now you will do it, huh? Well, if your belly is full, you WILL have a smile on your face rather than showing pangs of hunger! And don't worry...you will walk off the meal by lunchtime anyway...So, wake up a little bit earlier before your fishing journey and make that "breakfast of champions"! ~ It doesn't have to be a big production, just something to get you through with a couple snacks packed during the day until you get home. I'm sure you can fix this important meal of the day in LESS than 30 minutes...tops! And if you would rather put an instant oatmeal in the microwave...go for it! Good Eats and Bon Appetit!!
Wow! I smell a new weekly segment. The Friday Feeding Frenzy. No grits?ReplyDelete
Oh my!!! When will I have time to fish???!!! Maybe I can incorporate a few recipes into the Sunday Tippets...If you want grits...well, some guy named OWL has that recipe stashed away...I'm sure!ReplyDelete
Thanks "mom" for the reminder, err ...... I mean RD.ReplyDelete
That breakfast looks awfully southern. You sure you ain't from the south?ReplyDelete
By the way, Kelly makes some mean grits too... and for a little New Orleans flavor we do shrimp and grits pretty often too... not so much a breakfast item, more of a Sunday brunch thing.
Anything with shrimp, but I'm still not too sure about grits!! :) Yes, I must admit that last night's meal did taste pretty southern...comfort food...yum!ReplyDelete
WOW that looks good! Now, I am hungry. I don't cook much so maybe there is a granola bar in the house somewhere. LOLReplyDelete
Sunday mornings breakfast, biscuits and gravy.ReplyDelete

Brk Trt ~ Thanks for posting something delicious to start all of this! Ha
The only person I know that can survive for days on Diet Coke and Snickers Bars is the other woman that has a blog and is called the OUTDOORESS you and her together in Idaho with no camp cook ? ? soundslike you better stock up on Snickers . . .and take some hook removers with you , and don't forget the BEAR Spray . . .you better take someone with you that cant run as fast as you either ;)ReplyDelete
Journeyman, I think that you are... guessing!!! Not even the fastest runner can outrun a bear...how about loud pots and pans??? Yeah, that will do the trick!ReplyDelete
RD - Thanks for sharing that recipe on Brk Trt's blog. Now I also have a picture to compare my soon to be cooked biscuits and gravy to.ReplyDelete
