Lights, Camera, Action!!

Ok...so this writing prompt has come from Owl Jones of http://southernblueridge.wordpress.com/  (from a recent post...)  If there was an action movie made about my life...who would be the actress playing "The River Damsel"?  After much consideration (and a few chuckles) of thinking about the poor soul that would have to endure such a "wonderful" part...hands down, Meryl Streep.  Sure, she's older than me (ha)...but, I will take her experience in film anyday and she has already done one river movie (The River Wild)...She even had fly fishing lessons for it.  And I can loan her my pontoon for some floating...I'm sure that she would do an awesome job rescuing overturned tubers, camping with tent mice, wading the "big waters", and bringin' in the fish (INCOMING!!!) a la "A River Runs Through It"...Can Brad Pitt be in this movie too?  Maybe he could give a helping hand to the "Damsel in distress" as she slips on a rock while Mr. Brown Trout trys to take her down River X!  That would be reallllly nice!  And lets throw in an adventure with a bear in the campgrounds...rrrrraaaaarrrrr!!! Wait...that's a part for Sarah Palin...

Yes, I can see it now..."Adventures In Every Riffle"!  Coming soon to a theater near you...

  1. Good choice with Meryl...and Brad as the hero (yum!).

  2. Owl thought that Drew Barrymore would be good...Being a "Charlie's Angel" did put her in the running...But, I'm thinking that Meryl is a little tougher and has more stamina for this type of outdoor adventure!

  3. Oh now that's funny! I'd love to direct! But not if Streep is playing your part. She gives me the heebie-jeebies. Maybe we could meet in the middle and get ...hmmm...how about Helen Hunt? Or maybe that actress that was the wife on According to Jim? I always liked her....

:) Nice post and on a Monday too! :)

How much does this gig pay, anyway? lol

  4. Owl...I think that you can get over the "heebie-jeebies" when you see your cut in this...we've got to go with experience on this...trust me! Who brings in the most box office $$$$??? Hmmm?

  5. I don't know. We rarely go TO the movies because it's so expensive! I didn't know Streep was still alive, until your post. :)

If they did one about me, they'd have to use computers to put Dom DeLuise in the starring role I guess. Da-Da-DAHHHH! (<- Cannonball run reference.)

  6. Someone once said I reminded them of Brion James, playing the one-armed Cajun in "Southern Comfort" but I have both arms. I have a beard, I eat crawdads and I talk funny sometimes, though.

I have both eyes but I'm thinking more along the lines of Jeff Bridges in "True Grit" because, even heavily armed (not the arms in the reference above), drunk and on horseback, The Dude Abides.

I can also do a Jack Elam to go with Owl's Dom DeLuise.

  10. Quill~I think that it's too late to help Owl...lol. But, really...would we change him?
Cofisher~If Drew Carey could swim...wait, he is in better shape these days! But, ya know...there is just something about Brad Pitt! Nope, won't trade.
