So, I finally couldn't take it anymore and got back out on the water. Caught a few brown trout. With a bit of rest time in between. Glad I packed a nice lunch... Not one of my more productive outings, but it just felt good to be outside again.
The other recovery was my pink hat. Yes, the wind came up, and it went down into the current of the river. Fortunately, my fishing buddy caught up to it and netted it for me. Haha.
Meanwhile, after a shoulder rest... I came up with this nice catch and release. Don't usually tape em', but I had a feeling that it was close... = )
He had a nice tail. But, he had a great smile too...
Slowly, surely, I will get rid of this nagging muscle ache.
In the meantime, I will space out my trips to the river and my time on the river. I promise. But, you know what they say... there
is always room for jello.
I hope you feel better soon...and not for selfish reasons! I was off the water for a while year from July 2012 to 13. It really tested my sanity, but I now recover more with each fishing trip.ReplyDelete
Pam ~ Oh, if all else fails, I will cast with my left arm. I have tried it and I'm not too far off the mark. It actually hurts worse, bringing in the fish! So, I will let you do that part... haha Seriously, we should be good to go by Sept.Delete
Beautiful fish! I suspect if you laid back for a little bit, you'd heal a lot quicker with less chance of having surgery down the road. No, this isn't your mother but I will tell on you.ReplyDelete
Howard ~ Nanner Nanner! I went to the doc today. We have a few options to get me better... without surgery. So, put on your wading shoes... = )Delete
You may need to put on your WAITING shoes!Delete
I'm ok with that. = )Delete
Even the best players in the game of fishing, heck any game for that matter, need to listen to their bodies. Rest is not as fun for sure, but, rest means having fun for a longer period of time when the body heals. Sandy Koufax had to retire from the game of baseball because he tried to rush his way back after injuring his shoulder and in doing so just made matters worse. Take care my friend!ReplyDelete
Mel ~ I'm in no rush... I've got a plan to still get me out there to fish the waters of Colorado in June. I will follow orders from Dr. Howard and play it smart... Thanks!Delete
At your age and shoulder problems, I have the remedy, take a trip to Montana and wrestle with some of those big browns and that should get the shoulder back in working order fast---of course ice packs and a heating pad helps too, I know I have used both. Congrats on the twenty incher. Thanks for sharing
Yes, Bill... I am too young for this stuff to happen... haha. And you have hit the nail on the head... I do need to go to Montana! (A trip to Yellowstone is planned for Memorial Day weekend) Hope to be feeling better by then. = ) Thanks, bud.ReplyDelete
