I will admit that like you I would miss the reel and wonder how I am going to land this large trout without a drag as a backup. I wouldn’t have a problem with the limited fly selection. Post like yours today keeps me very interested—thanks for sharing
Bill Trussellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15351692272817692157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3934936932021151476.post-65951666015275795102012-08-13T11:32:03.535-06:002012-08-13T11:32:03.535-06:00Pam - In total agreement there...Pam - In total agreement there...THE RIVER DAMSELhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08364465918230421986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3934936932021151476.post-63538890598338784462012-08-13T03:31:37.413-06:002012-08-13T03:31:37.413-06:00I think I'd like to give it a try sometime, bu...I think I'd like to give it a try sometime, but I agree with you, I still have plenty to do just trying to master the other fly. It would be near impossible to give that up right now.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3934936932021151476.post-27654439788961254902012-08-12T19:07:58.882-06:002012-08-12T19:07:58.882-06:00Mark ~ I wish that I could say that I was "ho...Mark ~ I wish that I could say that I was "hooked", but I have to be honest. For sure. I am a bonified Czech Nympher... you know, "the dark side"!! I just don't see crossing over to the "lighter" side! Lol. I will say this... If you ever wind up with a Tenkara rod in your collection and start posting on that end of the fishing spectrum I think we should adjust your title. Based of Dame Juliana Berner's writings, "The Treatyse of Fishing With an Angle" written in 1486 being the first real reference to a lady and fishing with a fly. I think that if you begin a Tenkara page we will have to dub you writings..... Dame Emily of yonder Sandy Creek and her "Treatyse of Fishing on a Dangle". Hell of a name for a second blog.... don't you think? (Dame Juliana wouldn't have had a fly reel either)!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3934936932021151476.post-25736581100884585072012-08-12T12:36:56.870-06:002012-08-12T12:36:56.870-06:00I can respect that, I like the entomology aspect o...I can respect that, I like the entomology aspect of fly fishing too, which is why when it comes to tying flies I am one that like to fuse the two styles and create a tenkara style caddis for example.Brian L. Which is OK I suppose, because you tried it, and are open minded it about it and you had fun in the process, which is all you really ask for. When we go fishing again, I will only bring one rod or the other and not both!
Brian
editBrian L. Schielehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13370154673817423293noreply@blogger.com
