Summer Fishing Or Was It?

You tell me...June 7, 2009
Yellowstone Park, WY.  So, if you ever plan on an early trip to Yellowstone, be prepared for any kind of weather!  Have you ever had a weather surprise on a trip?My hubby stayed in the car, while I was determined that I was going to have one more day of fishing!!  The snowflakes falling in the river were actually gorgeous...and when I came back to the car...Hubby said to me, "Who is this woman I married??!!!  (He actually loves the passion I have for my fishing, even though he doesn't fish)  My coat was snowcovered and I got my fish that morning...We could now go home.

  1. Early June can be a bear for weather in Eastern Idaho and West Yellowstone area. Did I just say "bear"? Hmmm?

The "Jelly Rock" can treat you at times...
and defeat you at times weather it be weather hell or high water.

  5. Mel~Yes, I have been on an actual "BEAR Scare" in Yellowstone several times...I doubt that is what keeps me coming back for more, though! Ha. Cofisher~My hubby doesn't do windows...just plays cabby and takes me to my favorite fishing destinations! Richard~I have finally found a fishing hole with graylings...I'm going to check it out in the spring. Josh~I will be doing a series of Yellowstone trips during this month...and yes, it is usually a different experience each time.

  6. That's happened to me...on a trip to Georgia in March I was expecting to escape icebound North Dakota and do some bass fishing on open water. I got to go fishing alright--in a rare spring snow near Atlanta.

  7. RD there is a great greyling lake in ID near the little lost river out of Howe, ID. It is a bit of a hike to get there but it has great greyling fishing. Little lost river is also an amazing small stream fishing for big rainbows. And yes I have been known to do snow angels on august 31st.

  9. My wife is retiring in two years and the Yellowstone is one of our planned trips. You are a rare breed I can't name any women in our area who fish. Your husband is one lucky guy. Thanks for joining up with my group and I am joining your blog as well. I will add your blog to my list. Looking forward to more great post from you. Thanks for sharing
